Training courses
The FINEFISH training courses will combine information developed within FineFish and other RTD projects with the different experiences and observations from professional hatcheries, providing a summary of relevant knowledge from studies in other species.
A thorough presentation of diagnostics (methodology, guidelines for classification) will be included.
The primary focus will be on skeletal deformities in young fish, looking at causal factors and preventive actions.
In each case, experienced scientists and SME partners from the FINEFISH Consortium will provide the background and explanations to the problems faced and will participate in debates and Question/Answer sessions with participants.
SEA BASS & SEA BREAM
The training course on prevention of malformations in Sea bass & bream did successfully take place in Athens, Greece, on the 8th and 9th of May with more than 30 professionals attending the event.

RAINBOW TROUT
Due to the low number of registrations for the Finefish Training Course on Rainbow Trout that was to be held in Billund on 19-20 May 2009, the organisers have been forced unfortunately to take the decision to cancel this event due to economic considerations concerning the realisation of the course.
Those who have made advance payments will be refunded integrally this week.
The Members of the Finefish Consortium and the Course organisers sincerely regret this position.
The course materials are being finalised and will be distributed to all those who registered for the event. In addition, the registrants will also receive copies of the Best Management Practise Manuals and related Finefish materials (September 2009) on malformation identification and classification.
